Screen repair checklist
Start with the opening type. A window screen, sliding door, porch bay, and lanai panel each fail differently and need different notes for a useful quote.
- Is the frame bent, square, or loose at the corners?
- Is the mesh torn, brittle, faded, or pulling away from spline?
- Does a screen door drag, miss the latch, or flex when opened?
- Is pet pressure limited to a lower panel or spread across several openings?
- Do adjacent panels need to match a visible porch or pool area?
When one panel may not be the whole issue
If a door keeps scraping, fix the door movement before blaming the mesh. If a porch corner keeps loosening, check the spline channel. If one fresh panel would sit beside several faded panels, ask whether matching matters from the patio or street view.
Example local situation: a beachside slider with a torn lower screen may need new mesh, roller attention, and track cleaning. A front window in a newer neighborhood may only need a clean mesh match and a square frame.
